Thinking, Fast and Slow by Daniel Kahneman is a lengthy, self-conscious and a challenging read but highly recommended if you’re interested in why human beings behave the way they behave. It’s given me so much ‘oh snap, so that’s why we’re so dumb’ moments that at this point I don’t even want to admit I’m a human to any space.

As a result Not So /5(12). Another brilliant book featuring details of the five days in November that shook the word. Slow Journey South is the autobiographical story of Paula Constant and her husband Gary's journey from London to Morocco, a journey made entirely on foot.

It is their intention that this is the first section of a journey from London all the way to the bottom of Africa/5. Ironically, perhaps, I read through this book very quickly. I really like the basic ideathat through mindfulness and in-the-moment living, we can bring back the balance between our analytical and non-analytical thought processes, thereby derailing the circuitous train of thought that often leads us in a circle of stress, confusion, and overwhelm.4/5(66).

The book explores Hayward’s journey of transition from a life focused on career to a life focused on family. It took me some time to warm to the author for a couple of reasons. Slow Medicine vs. Fast Medicine is not either/or, but overall we have thrown the Slow baby out with the bath water and so balance requires emphasizing the Slow.

Slow Down by Nichole Nordeman is a book based around her hit song Slow Down. If you want a good, ugly cry and you have small children, have grown-up children, want children, or you are pregnant, listen to this (just watched the linked video with Jimmie and cried my eyes out) song and then go buy this book.

I’ve now finished “Thinking, Fast and Slow” by Daniel Kahneman. Probably more than any other non-fiction / scientific book, I found it so informative and interesting that I could hardly put it down.
